This album is the first studio album from Westcoast producer DJ Quik. The album was recorded throughout 1990 in Los Angeles California with a budget of $30,000. At the time DJ Quik was the highest paid artist on Profile, being the first artist with a six figure deal. Originally the album was meant to be a Hood mixtape. The album would go on to be Platinum.

This album is a Hip Hop Classic and is a must have for everyone, not just Westcoast heads. The Album features artists that you will continue to see throughout DJ Quiks career; AMG, 2nd II None and Hi-C.

Highlights on the album are "Tonite", "Quik Is The Name" and "Born And Raised in Compton."

As a westcoast head and fan of Quik's production, this album has stayed in my playlists off and on since I owned the cassette.
