I remember when this album dropped, it was in heavy rotation since then, and possibly one of my favorites from 2Pac. My top three of the album would be "Dear Mama' obviously, "Me Against The World" and "Old School". I loved Old School because it shows really how much love Pac had for the Eastcoast and those that came before him. I feel that is missing with a lot of the new music. Debuted at No 1 on Billboard and stayed there for 4 weeks, Platinum within the year. The first artist to have a number 1 album while serving a prison sentence. recieved 2 grammy nominations in 1996. Recorded in 10 different recording studios.

It was like a blues record. It was down-home. It was all my fears, all the things I just couldn't sleep about. Everybody thought I was living so well and doing so good that I wanted to explain it. And it took a whole album to get it all out. I get to tell my innermost, darkest secrets I tell my own personal problems.[7]
