Paint The Park

Paint the Park is a hip hop event that is ran annually in Barrie for the last 11 years. I co-founded this event with The City of Barrie and The MacLaren Art Centre in 2003. I was the main facilitator and organizer for the events. In 2010 the City of Barrie handed the reins over to myself and the fine people at Unity Market & Studios (Shane 'L.S.' Dennis) and The Barrie Underground (John Roe). The format changed to include live local music while the skatepark recieved a new coat of graffiti.

It is a great feeling to be a part of something that has survived for 10 years, allowing artists a place to network and grow. Many of the young artists that participated in these events now attend or have attended College or University art education.
