Definition - Rayne Drop Presents The Definition EP - 4 Beards
This highly anticipated album has been a while in the making coming off his S.O.T.I. Barrie win and then the 2013 S.O.T.I. Grand championship win, a Milestone Apparel Sponsorship and signing to Heavy Aux Records. The album comes in a simplistic well designed sleeve and consists of 7 tracks including an Intro track and an interesting “Shoutro” to end the EP. The “Shoutro” includes mentions of many of Ontario's popular Hip Hop scene including yours truly. I was surprised not to see the Rayne Drop produced “Real” included on this EP. Definitions highly lyrical flow over Rayne Drops instrumentals makes for a great but short 20 minute adventure. High points for me for this album are “Double Dragon” “Authentic” and the heartfelt single “Hurt For A Lifetime.” Often when a single producer does the entire project the album often sounds similar making it sound like one really long song. Rayne Drop and Definition do a really well job of mixing up the vibe throughout the project. The major downside to this album is that it is only 7 tracks, it leaves the listener wanting more and left to await a full length release. Shouts to Johnny Ohm.
I stand firm on this rating, both Definition and Rayne Drop put in solid work on this project. Going back over this EP leaves me wondering.......Wheres Definition?
