Dustin Wareham - Jouska - 4.5 Beards

I have been anticipating Dustin's debut album following his S.O.T.I. Championship win, and his previous project from 2014 "Bootleg The EP." This album mixes catchy beats and hooks that make it easy to sing along, with interesting and politically charged content. It is refreshing to see an emcee addressing issues in their music. The content ranges from police brutality, to drugs, poverty, and the struggles of everyday life. look for tracks such as "Constant Sinner", "Bukka, Bukka", and "No Pills". The album consists of 16 tracks, including 8 features such as Shao-lin, SpecsOne, Mic Gutz and the soulful Mookie Williams. The entire album delivers from imagery to content to sound, but a few of the highlights for me were "T Dot Oh", "Bukka Bukka", "Constant Sinner" and "It's my Time." I highly recommend getting this album and going back to check out both "Bootleg This EP" and a few singles that have previously been released. There is one thing that this album does leave me thinking...Does he ever get that fucking backwoods?

Coming back to this album almost 2 years later, it was refreshing how well this album still plays. This album was the only album to get above 4 Beards in the entire run of the publication. This album has aged well and a few of these tracks have popped up in my playlists over the years. I would list this album as a classic must have album coming out of Toronto.
