Keaton - Keyser Soze Killed Me - 3 Beards

Keyser Soze Killed me is the third project from the Kingston area Emcee. The album consists of 12 tracks including two features from Wicked Chimpanzie and D-Logick. The album starts off low for me with what sounds like a tagged beat but could possibly be a strange sample. Either way it made it difficult for me to focus on the content of the track. Moving through the album you are hit with the catchy tracks such as "Life Goes On", "Self Esteem", and "My Goals." The album is mixed with soulful keys, interesting beats, and content with a mix of R&B and rap/trap. High points for me from the album were Keaton's cadence and flow on the tracks 'Self Esteem" and "Life Goes On." Low points for me for the album were how when listening to the album as a whole the similarities between some lyrics, concepts and beats come across as somewhat repetitive. With the album offered on Bandcamp for Name Your Price, I would highly recommend the listen as well as the download. Not to mention the other two projects are also available for a steal.

Going back over this album recently I think I may have been a little hard on the initial review, now leaning closer to a 3.5 than the 3. I find it hard at this level for beats/beatmakers to have tags in their beats for album releases. Even if the beat is purchased it comes across as the opposite.
