Kehmak - Old Soul EP -4 Beards
I was excited to hear that Kehmak was dropping a new project. i have caught him on stage a few times and enjoyed the energy and punch lines. This is the third solo project from Kehmak, and a follow up to "The Revenge of The Nerds." The EP consists of 9 tracks and includes features from Culture, JR Fillion, Jor'Del Downz, Leslie Carron and of course long-time Kehmak collaborator Casper The Ghost. This project delivers exactly how you would expect if you have ever heard Kehmak before. From the witty lines of "Break The Internet." to crazy timing in "Information," and the wild team up joint with Casper The Ghost. High Points for the album were "Break The Internet," "Hank Moody," and "Hood Burger" Low points for the EP was that it wasn't an album, and I found some of the content lowered the replay ability. I recommend the 5 dollar purchase of the album and if you can get your hands on one of the limited edition hard copies, than do it.
Looking back at this album I agree with the rating and think I may have been a little hard on that it was an EP. The EP has become a lot more popular over the last few years allowing for smaller concept albums, collaboration projects, though with less tracks, and lower budgets I do expect less filler.
