Rup Monsta - Boom Bap Emporium 3.5 Beards
As a Hip Hop head since "Licensed to Ill" dropped, I had big hopes when an album called "Hip Hop Emporium" slides across your desk. The authenticity of that statement was reinforced when I downloaded the album and the tracks were accompanied with a front image and a track listing from Notepad. The album consists of 11 tracks and unable to find any information on the album I assume the production is also from Rup Monsta himself. The Initial track "Chamber Music" sets the tone for the album with hard hitting beat, cuts and some grimey rhymes. High points for me were "Hip Hop Warrior.", "Y'All Widdit," and "Take That Mothafucka." At times throughout the album I expected more from some of the rhyme patterns, content and the technical aspects of the scratching, but overall I would recommend a listen to this album. I say listen mainly because I couldn't find anywhere to purchase the album. I would say if you are in Winnipeg or run into Rup Monsta at a show, then purchase the album.
